The election is less than one month away! The potential for change is hanging excitedly in the air and we want to use this and our current heightened influence as voting constituents to get our potential MPs on board with the #Missing Medicines Campaign!

Here’s 3 things you can do:

  1. Write to your MP/PPC today and tell them about what you’ve been campaigning on and what they can do if they get elected/re-elected. Ask them to write to the Minister for International Development urging them to fund the Push, Pull, Pool model for developing medicines! You can use this letter as a guide. You can also ask them to join the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for HIV and AIDS, a committed group of MPs who launch reports and lobby Ministers to improve the international HIV response.
  2. Attend a hustings and quiz your potential MPs about what they will do to improve the HIV response if they get into parliament. You can find a list of when hustings are here.
  3. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper and tell them what you are hoping for from your next MP! There is lots of news around at the moment about students not wanting to vote or being deleted off the voting register – so a story about an active student who is hopeful about the election could well be a page filler 🙂

Elections in the UK only happen every 5 years so this is a great opportunity to get our MPs on board with our priorities before they get stuck in.
